Virtual Appointments

SRH is now offering Virtual appointments through TeleVet!

SRH cares about you, your family, and your animals. In light of COVID-19 concerns, we have taken precautions to keep you and our staff safe, including frequent handwashing and glove use, wearing face masks, practicing social distancing, and adjusting office hours to allow for additional disinfecting. In addition we now have the ability to offer digital consultations to complement in-office and farm call care through TeleVet!

Unfortunately, not all illnesses and injuries are a good fit for telemedicine, and this is not a substitute for urgent or emergency care: we may still need to examine your pet! In urgent situations or after hours, please call us directly. As always, large animal services are available for emergencies 24/7 via phone.

We would like to emphasize that this is just another resource to help us serve our clients. It does not replace the need for preventive health care, yearly physical examinations, in depth lameness examinations, sick visits, as well as other cases where a physical examination is needed to make a diagnosis.

To learn more about how to utilize the TeleVet app or to get started, visit our Getting Started with TeleVet information area!

*Please note that this service is only available for current SRH Veterinary Services clients and patients – legally, animals must have had an examination with our veterinarians within the last 12 months. Also, if your animal is experiencing an emergency, please call us directly, and as always you can reach a member of our large animal team 24/7.

Getting Started with TeleVet

To get started, you can download the TeleVet app through the iTunes or Google Play store, create your personal profile and a profile for your animals. Go to https://www.gettelevet.com/owners for more information on the app or to get started!

When the need arises, you can create a consultation request with information on your animal’s issue – you can upload pictures or videos, instant message with us, set up a phone consultation, or chat through a video conference call to help get your animal feeling better again. Best of all – it is care with veterinarians and staff you are familiar with – not a third-party company.

Circumstances in which we may recommend utilizing TeleVet to assess your animal might include:

  • You are unsure if your animal requires care or not
  • Dermatological issues/wounds
  • Post-op evaluations
  • New or different behaviors
  • Some lameness
  • Weight management

If you are unsure if a TeleVet visit is right for you and your animal in a given situation, please call us! We would be happy to help you determine if a virtual visit is a good fit or if in person care is preferred! If a TeleVet appointment is appropriate, you will be able to pay the small consultation fee directly though the app.
