Dr. Elizabeth (Betsy) Lordan

Hometown: Gloucester, MA

Dr. Betsy Lordan, a native of Gloucester, MA, graduated from Colorado State University’s College of Veterinary Medicine in 2013  and completed an equine internship at New England Equine Medical and Surgical Center in Dover, NH.  Dr. Lordan subsequently traveled to Australia and spent 18 months working with Scone Equine Hospital in the Hunter Valley.  This area is home to the world’s second largest thoroughbred breeding population.  Dr. Lordan’s work focused primarily on lameness and podiatry.  Dr. Lordan has been a member of the SRH team for a few years now but recently she traveled to Lexington, KY where she worked with some of the world’s best podiatrists for several months.  Dr. Lordan has a passion for shoeing and equine podiatry, she completed her Certified Farrier’s Examination through the American Farrier’s Association and continues to attend continuing education classes and competes in blacksmithing competitions.  When she is not working or shoeing she enjoys walking her dog, Matty, and spending time with her family.
