Joni and Friends

SRH needs your help!  Have you ever heard of Wheels for the World?  Did you know that 1 billion people around the world are affected by disability?

SRH Veterinary Services invites you to partner with us to help people impacted by disability around the world.  This April we would like to collect used wheel chairs and bring them to a “Wheels for the World” distribution center run by Joni and Friends.  From the distribution center the wheel chairs go to prisons where they are refurbished by inmates and then shipped around the world. In developing countries volunteers go to fit people to wheel chairs giving them freedom and opportunity.

You may have never heard of Joni and Friends.  Joni and Friends was founded by Joni Eareckson Tada who in 1967 was injured in a diving accident at 17 years old, becoming a quadriplegic in a wheelchair. After two years of rehabilitation, she emerged with new skills and a fresh determination to help others in similar situations. She founded Joni and Friends in 1979 to provide Christ-centered ministry to special-needs families, as well as training for churches. Joni and Friends serves thousands of special needs families through Family Retreats and has delivered over 170,000 wheelchairs and Bibles to needy individuals with disabilities in developing nations through Wheels for the World.

If you have any used wheelchairs that are not being used let SRH know as we can partner with others to bring freedom to people around the world impacted by disabilities. Happy Spring!
